What Causes Hypertension?

Obesity, diabetes, smoking, stress/anxiety, genetics/family history, excessive alcohol use. There are also secondary causes for hypertension which your physician can discuss with you in detail which may require additional testing. 

How is Hypertension Diagnosed?

Having a blood pressure > 140/90.

  • Appropriate diet

  • Exercise

  • Weight loss

  • Alcohol reduction

  • Medications if needed
